This 1946 Lincoln Convertible Street Rod is a beautifully restored All-Steel Street Rod that is ready for some serious cruising. 1946 was an interesting year in American automotive history. The American auto-makers had just resumed production after a 4 year hiatus caused by their contributions to the war effort. With limited resources spent on research and development during the war years, most of Detroit's manufacturers continued production of their 1946 models with the same molds and dies that were used to make the 1942 models, which is why the early post-war cars largely resembled their pre-war counterparts. While hot rodding started during the pre-war prohibition era, the practice really started taking off after the War concluded and soldiers returned home. While early Fords were the initial body of choice for Street Rods, hot rodders have since used virtually every different body on the planet to construct their street machines. While it's pretty rare, even today, to see a Lincoln Street Rod (such as this one) at a local car show, when done right, they are a sight to beholden. Powering this custom Lincoln is a 302 Cubic Inch Ford V8 engine paired with a single 4 barrel carburetor. The NOM 302 V8 is hooked up to an Automatic Transmission ensuring that just about anybody can take this restomod for a spin around the block. The chrome and brightwork around the exterior of this classic Lincoln is outstanding. Frenched headlights and custom Cosmopolitan add to the tasteful custom look of this Street Rod. This '46 Lincoln is loaded with options! With power steering, getting in and out of those tight spaces at car shows or drive-ins is as smooth as silk. Power front disc brakes and power drums in the rear makes stopping a lot easier especially with all that extra horsepower under the hood. With the addition of Vintage Air Conditioning, you can stay cool even on the hottest summer days. Riding on aluminum American Racing Wheels with whitewall Hankook Radial tires, this Street Rod has a great look and even better ride. The tan cloth power convertible top is in fantastic condition and it goes up and down with the simple flick of a switch. The all steel body has been beautifully repainted in a Dark Emerald Green Metallic basecoat/clearcoat which give the car a really classy look. The custom interior on this Lincoln is stunning! The front bucket seats and rear bench seat have been reupholstered in beautiful tan leather. The door panels are beautifully upholstered in matching tan leather as well. The dash is in wonderful shape and the custom wood steering wheel add to the custom look and feel of this cruiser. The dash is equipped with stock instrumentation including a 110 MPH speedometer, temperature gauge, amp gauge, oil pressure gauge, fuel gauge, clock, and late-model Oldsmobile AM/FM/Cassette entertainment system. The trunk is superbly detailed with tan carpeting and upholstery. Whether you're looking to buy your very first classic car or you're adding to your existing collection, this 1946 Lincoln Street Rod would make an excellent addition. Give us a call today!
